Kiwi Can session

Hi everyone, 

We hope that your week is going well. Today's post is about our Kiwi Can session, that we had today at school. 

We are currently learning about communication and how to have positive relationships with our peers and anyone we interact with. 
So today we had a great challenging activity. We had to get the object (bomb)💣😓 from the middle of the course to the safety of the table. We could only use two skipping ropes and we weren't able to step into the area around the object or let the rope drop into that area either. 
It was a great activity to get us thinking about how to communicate with each other effectively. 

We gave it our best shot, but unfortunately we were not able to get the object to safety. We might have better luck next week. 😊

Manulua Whanau Hui

Hi Whanau,

Just a reminder that we have our Whanau Hui tonight. 

  This will take place in the Clendon Park Staffroom at 5.30pm.  We envisage the evening will not go for more than an hour and it will be a very informal gathering.

We will be having a free sausage sizzle at 5.00pm, so be on time if you want to get a sausage!  😋

This is a great chance for us to get to meet you and find out more about you and your family, and also for you to meet the Manulua teachers and find out a bit more about us.

Our principal, Sue Dawson, will also be speaking at this hui.

Items we will be covering will include:

Ø Looking at opportunities for whanau to come in and work with our students, whether it be for sport, cultural events, or anything else;

Ø Discussing the topics we will be covering this year;

Ø Trips this year (including our Year 8 trip to Rotorua);

Ø Homework;

Ø Questions from whanau;

Ø And much more!

Totara Park trip

Travelling 🚌 to Totara Park today was great, as the weather was nice and cool ☀☁. When we got there the sun came out which made us count down the minutes till it was our swimming time 🏊.
When we finally got in the refreshing cool water, our class decided to play tag. There were splashes everywhere as we tried to escape each others grasps. It was an amazing way to spend the day at the beginning of the year. We really appreciate Mrs Dawson 💗 for allowing us to have these special days where we get to bond with each other and come together as one big family. 😀

Counties Manukau cricket training
